About this workbook

Excel is still the tool most offices run on, and most people use a small fraction of it. This workbook teaches the parts that come up in real jobs — lookups, conditional totals, pivot tables, charts and simple dashboards — using practice files that look like the spreadsheets you will actually be handed.

Each lesson starts with a file, a task and a picture of the finished result. You work through it yourself, then compare with the solved version. By the end you will have built an invoice register, an attendance tracker, a monthly expense report and a sales dashboard that updates when you paste in new data.

Can I do this on a phone?

You can read the workbook on a phone, but the exercises need a laptop or desktop with Excel or Google Sheets in a browser.

Which Excel version do I need?

Excel 2016 or later. XLOOKUP needs Microsoft 365 or Excel 2021; for older versions the INDEX-MATCH equivalent is given every time.

How will I receive the files?
